First-appearance research

Reader turning pages of a printed book

First-appearance research is for collectors who already know that a character’s comic debut and that character’s first NFT outing are different publishing events. Mixing those dates is the fastest way to mislabel a binder page.

The comparison we actually run

We place the print first appearance (issue, year, creative team as commonly cited by readers) beside the digital debut (storefront language, art treatment, and date). If the NFT uses a later armour, a film costume, or a variant cover riff, that fact goes on the sheet in ordinary English.

Audience this sitting serves

It suits people writing captions for a personal shelf, a local comic-night talk, or a family collection that spans paper issues and digital files. It is not an appraisal and it is not a forecast of later asking prices.
